LYN HINER

OWNER, LYN HINER CARS

After studying art at Pratt Institute in New York, Lyn ended up working in the business world as the trade show manager for Performance Racing Industry. For nearly a decade, she enjoyed everything about the racing industry and learned the value of good business acumen. These early experiences helped shape the course of her life as is she transitioned into a professional artist.

In 2012, after a horrific incident put Lyn in the hospital with 2nd & 3rd-degree burns, a year of surgeries and occupational therapy, she felt the call back to art, a passion enjoyed in her youth and early twenties.

The original collection of artwork titled “Petals”, initially titled “Beauty from Ashes” became Lyn’s ongoing conversation about the journey back from that difficult experience with the burns, recognizing there’s beauty to be found in the midst of life’s struggles.

Along the journey, a collector who knew Lyns passion for cars asked her to paint his car in her signature style. That ignited the “Petrol” series in 2017.

It might seem strange to those who don’t know Lyn’s history, but her dad used to rebuild and race Porsches when she was very young. The distinct sights, sounds and smells of that incredible machine were embedded from those early memories.

Over the years Lyn’s work has become recognized internationally and she’s displayed at juried fine art shows, world class automotive concours and other distinguished events including: Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, Art San Diego, Beverly Hills Art Show, Global Auto Salon Riyadh, Mission Federal Artwalk San Diego, Laguna Beach Festival of Arts, La Jolla Art & Wine, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance’s RetroAuto, SEMA Trade Show, and more.
