ESTHER UNTI

SENIOR ENGINER, VEHICLE DYNAMICS, LUCID MOTORS

I grew up in a small town in Northern California. After taking auto shop in high school, I fell in love with cars and decided to try to make a career out of it. I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for college and studied mechanical engineering, where I worked in the school machine shop. I also participated in the Formula SAE program in which students from schools across the US design, build, and test small Formula 1 style electric and internal combustion race cars. During college, I spent time as an intern at Tesla, first in brakes and then in vehicle dynamics modeling. I graduated from Cal Poly in 2018 and went to work for Lucid Motors, an electric vehicle start-up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve been with Lucid for about two and a half years now, working in chassis, vehicle dynamics, and vehicle controls. In my current role, I help design and tune the electric motor controls that the driver interacts with.
